The Dental Care Awards – Our Story
We started the Dental Care Awards to recognise the hard work of those in the Dental Profession and supporting Oral Healthcare Industry towards the advancement of dental health and professionalism.
We encountered lots of Awards recognising businesses and individuals that had little or no rigour to the assessment process and effectively amounted to a ‘pay to play’ experience. We’re passionate about patient care and we want to make sure that our Awards are not misleading to the public; the Dental Care Awards have been developed to be trusted and to demonstrate transparency and integrity.
Dental professionals are dynamic health practitioners who often are experts in service as well as providing clinical excellence. We want to publicly recognise the amazing contributions of individual practitioners and organisations towards the shared mission of oral health.
We are one profession – the Dental Care Awards are proudly independent of any one professional group or professional body in dentistry – our mission is to celebrate dentistry and oral health in its entirety and our award categories are broad to reflect this.
2023/2024 is the inaugural year of the Dental Care Awards and we value and appreciate your support of this enterprise which recognises and celebrates the excellence in our profession and supporting industry.
How the Awards Work
Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria for a particular award can either self-nominate or be nominated by someone else.
A panel of judging experts review all our submissions for awards and assess these according to set criteria. In the initial stages of judging, finalists are selected from the nominees in each category. The finalists are then ranked within each award category and the panel selects the winner based on their unique contribution’s alignment to the judging criteria.
All finalists who meet the base criteria within a particular category will be recognised in their contribution to the Award category for which they have been nominated and ranked within.
Finalists and winners have access to memorabilia options to commemorate their achievements in the Dental Care Awards.
All finalists are invited to attend the award ceremony, where the winners will be announced alongside a night of celebration and championing of the best of the dental profession and our supporting industry.
